Tidors Update - December, 2010

After a successful launch in the 2009 school year, the 2010 school year brought new challenges.  School did not start on time this year due to the earthquake.  The government wanted all students to have an equal start so the test results would not be benefited by more time in the classroom for those not in the earthquake zone.

Tidor continues to teach the character classes but we have ADDED 2 NEW CHARACTER EMPLOYEES!  Gito is sharing the gospel one by one with each student in the Drop of Love school.  This takes time.  There are 2,000 students to visit with.  He takes about 10 minutes with each student.  In the first 3 weeks of school he had seen 287 students and had seen 31 of them trust in Christ!! 

Jimmy has been hired to teach the teachers once a week on the particular character quality that Tidor is teaching the students.  This has proved very valuable and the teachers are catching on to the plan and are enthusiastic.  A quiz of the weeks character teaching and verses is given every Friday.  A small award from the one of the Christmas boxes is given to the winners.  This brings excitement like you cannot believe.

God sees it all and has added his blessing!  The school is full of students this year and the atmosphere is fantastic.  There is a zeal and excitement in the school like never before.  We want this school to be known for not only excellence in academics but also excellence in character.

Future Plans and Needs

1. We must continue this ministry because it is the backbone for the future of this country.  No country can stand the corruption of character like that which exists in Haiti.  To pay these three young men requires $800 per month.  This pays for all their salary.

2. Pray for Gito, Jimmy and Tidor to filled with the spirit and understand the Word of God and make it clear.  Pray that the children would understand that salvation is not by works!  Pray that they would understand that once they are saved that Character will carry them forward and God will make a way for them in life.

3. Pray that the curriculum would be known all over Haiti and the books would be in great demand and many more schools and churches would adopt this plan.
