Earthquake
Response and Needs
Update – December, 2010
The help you gave in February and March of 2010 continues
today! Thank you!
Physical Aid Report
Aid to 400 hungry people has continued through the summer
and this fall. A container with corn was sent in September and arrived in
mid November. 40,000 pounds of corn was shipped along with a larger
generator to power the new corn grinder that is now in place in Limbe.
This grinder will mill about 40 bags per hour or 2,000 pounds of corn. Ray
is especially thankful as it does not take as much time for him to have to tend
to the grinding.
The team that was in Haiti in October witnessed the
distribution and helped sort donations of health kits and prepare the bags of
grain. They also handed out tracts with the food. This takes place
on Fridays and involves 300 people.
Sunday after church another 100 people are given grain and
any other supplies we may have. These people must have attended church.
Their name is placed on a roll and then called out for them to come forward and
receive the food.
The next container will be leaving on December 15th.
It will have 28,000 pounds of corn, 10,000 pounds of Christmas boxes and 6,000
pounds of 2X4's and metal roofing.
Spiritual Ministry
We are now 11 months past the earthquake. While in
the Limbe church there were a noticeable number of new young people and the
church has grown considerably. The report is that the spiritual ministry
of discipleship has continued and many have remained strong in the Lord that
came to Christ right after the quake.
There is a lot of fear concerning the conditions that are
constantly changing. People are unsettled and the need is great.
Thank you for praying! Eugene Enns
